🌿 Olive Tree Care | Growth Updates
Hey Cultivator, it’s Angeline 🌸
Olive Tree Care is a lesson in patience and intention. Olive trees grow slowly and deliberately, especially when grown in containers, and their progress shows up in subtle but meaningful ways.
Today I’m sharing current growth updates from my olive tree and what I’m noticing as it continues to establish itself.
🌱 Current Growth Observations
Right now, my olive tree is showing steady signs of health rather than rapid growth. This is exactly what I expect from a young olive.
What I’m seeing:
Firm, upright stems
Healthy green leaves with no discoloration
No leaf drop or stress signs
Olives prefer stability. They respond best when they are not constantly moved or overwatered.
🪴 Soil and Container Setup
Because this olive tree is growing in a container, drainage is essential. The soil stays loose and well-aerated, allowing roots to breathe.
I allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, which helps prevent root stress. Overwatering is one of the most common issues with olive trees, especially indoors or on patios.
☀️ Light and Placement
Light plays a major role in Olive Tree Care. My olive is placed where it receives strong, consistent light throughout the day along with good airflow.
As the seasons change, I adjust placement to keep light levels steady rather than pushing growth unnaturally. Slower growth during cooler months is normal and healthy.
🌿 Pruning and Structure
At this stage, pruning is minimal. I’m allowing the tree to develop its natural shape and structure. Olive trees benefit from patience early on, focusing on root development before shaping.
🌱 Why Olive Trees Teach Patience
Olive trees do not rush. Their growth reminds us that strong foundations take time. Even when visible changes are small, underground development is happening.
This is one of the reasons I love growing olives. They reward consistent care rather than constant intervention.

🌞 Final Thoughts
Olive Tree Care is about trust. With the right light, well-draining soil, and steady care, olive trees settle in and grow on their own timeline.
The beauty is in the waiting.
